Botox in Seattle
Botox Cosmetic is a simple injectable product to temporarily smooth frown lines on the forehead and between the eyebrows. Botox was approved by the FDA in 2002 for the temporary treatment of moderate to severe frown lines on the forehead and between the eyebrows in people ages 18 to 65. Almost 3.3 million procedures were performed in 2005 alone.
The Seattle Botox Treatment
Men and women in Seattle love Botox because it involves a 10-minute non-surgical procedure with no recovery time. You can even do it on your lunch break!
Our medical director and injectables expert Felicia Forrest administers several tiny Botox injections directly into the muscles that cause frown lines on the forehead and between the eyebrows. She determines where to administer the injections by examining your ability to move certain muscles. The amount of product required and location of the injections vary from person to person. No anesthesia is required.
Most patients see changes in their appearance within one week of treatment and changes may continue to take effect for up to one month. Changes typically last about four months.

Botox® FAQs
What exactly is Botox®?
It’s a purified protein produced by the Clostridium botulinum bacterium. It’s a non-surgical treatment administered by trained professionals that temporarily reduces moderate to severe frown lines on the forehead and between the eyebrows in people 18 to 65 years of age.
How does the injection work?
Those moderate to severe frown lines on your forehead and between your eyebrows form as the result of muscle activity over time. Botox is injected directly into the forehead muscles to block the transmission of nerve impulses, which reduces the muscle activity that causes lines to form.
When will I see results from a Botox® treatment?
You will likely see an improvement within days of your first treatment and lines continue to improve for up to a month. Results vary from person to person.
How long does the injection last?
Results usually last for about four months. If you discontinue treatment, frown lines will gradually return and look like they did before.
Who should administer Botox®?
Any authorized healthcare professional can administer Botox. Our medical director and injectables expert Felicia Forrest has a wealth of experience and she practices as an Advanced Registered Nurse.
Is treatment with Botox® painful?
Discomfort is minimal and brief. We can apply a cold pack or numbing cream to make you more comfortable if you wish.
Who should not use Botox®?
You should not get Botox if you have an infection in the area to be treated or if you’re hypersensitive to any ingredient in the Botox injection. Botox isn’t recommended for patients with neuromuscular disorders such as ALS, myasthenia gravis, or Lambert-Eaton syndrome because they may be at increased risk of serious side effects.
Does Botox® reduce jaw pain?
Yes. If you are using Botox to relax and slim your facial / jaw muscles, it can also help relieve jaw pain. It relaxes the masseter muscle to improve jaw discomfort (from clenching and grinding). Ask our Aesthetic Injectors about your specific goals for injections.
Will my facial expressions continue to look natural?
Although the results are visible, your facial appearance may not change radically. The muscle activity that causes frown lines is simply reduced, so you can still frown or look surprised without the wrinkles and creases. You can always talk to Felicia Forrest, our injectables expert, about your concerns. She creates customized Botox plans for every patient.
Is Botox® affordable?
Botox is surprisingly affordable compared to most cosmetic procedures. According to an American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery survey, Botox is one of the least expensive facial aesthetic procedures in the United States. Advanced Skin and Body Solutions offers free initial consultations to discuss individualized treatment and cost. Call (425) 643-5772 to schedule your free initial consultation.
Will I experience any side effects?
The most common side effect is nausea and this usually only happens to patients who dislike needles. Other potential side effects include temporary eyelid droop, localized pain, infection, inflammation, tenderness, swelling, redness, bleeding, and bruising. Patients with certain neuromuscular disorders may be at increased risk of serious side effects.
What will happen to my frown lines if I discontinue Botox®?
If you discontinue treatment, frown lines will gradually return to look the way they were before treatment.
