How Does Juvéderm VOLUX Work?

At Advanced Skin and Body, we use Volux’s clear injectable gel to augment clients’ jawlines. The gel contains lidocaine for client comfort. After an initial consultation, we vary the amount of product used to clients’ exact specifications: Based on age, facial definition, sagging, etc. For men and women (age 21+), Volux fills out the jaw with a “hyaluronic acid” formula – a natural molecule to the body which boosts elasticity. Volux results speak for themselves. You should expect to see improvements immediately after treatment. Full results are visible after ~2 weeks.

Is VOLUX for Men or Women?

Luckily, it’s for both. Men and women often have different aesthetic goals, but Volux can help anyone. For women, a Volux-structured jaw makes facial contour more “striking” and feminine. A side profile will show beautiful facial symmetry, and Volux also gives the appearance of weight loss in some cases. For men, a strong chin is usually the goal. Volux specializes in this area (above the mandible). Improved jaw structure can even reduce the appearance of the “double chin” in men and women. Juvéderm VOLUX can help clients of all ethnicities, skin tones and types.

What Can I Expect?

Some results will be visible right away, with full results after ~2 weeks. It takes time to structure your jaw as Volux’s formula sets. In terms of comfort, it’s similar to other fillers. Clients vary in how they feel, but we offer Pro-Nox gas to help (discussed in a free consultation). Results can last up to 1 year. However, some clients return after 6 or 8 months for maintenance at Advanced Skin and Body. Our Aesthetic Injectors are happy to form a customized treatment plan with you.

Is There Down Time?

As with anything injected into the skin, there can be mild redness, swelling or bruising. These usually fade in 2-3 days. There is no major down time after Volux, but you should try to avoid excessive sun / cold exposure or irritating the injection site for ~2 weeks. Don’t massage your skin right away. These post-care steps simply help Volux take shape and allow your skin to heal. You’ll be seeing results in no time.
